Any comments about minerals, technology, science or any research shall be well received at our NEWS, there are so many mysteries in the world of minerals that still nobody is able to give the conclusive solution to every situation existing.
Any journals and specialized publications that cover all of these topics, we like to learn from these comments, but most of the time we have also ideas that we would like to comment on.
If you have any comments that you consider to be in the general interest on some topics that are still to be discovered, about minerals, technology, science or research, or other comments that being of these same topics, and you want to put them in general knowledge and where you can discuss them constructively, do not hesitate to use our NEWS to get your experiences, studies or concerns, publish everything that makes sense and can be useful for the community of minerals and to all researchers.
How the Blue Diamonds did obtain their color?
The blue diamonds were formed many millions years ago but nobody really knows how they were formed. There are many theories but nothing in particular that are makes us realized the real way in which way the blue color was produced.
These diamonds form at the center of earth more than 600 km deep and it is a mystery how they have obtained the blue color at such depth.
In addition they are very rare and difficult to find, practically it would be necessary to obtain a quantity of more than one hundred thousand diamonds and one of them shall be blue.
Their rarity makes them very expensive in the market places, but they are really colored impurities, you do not see them very often and nobody knows their origin. It is true that they have been obtained based on carbon under pressure and heat, but no one knows how the blue color have been produced, with total certainty.
There are many researchers whom think that it's evident that boron was somehow pushed to the center of earth and reached great depths, logically when arriving at the diamond formation some part of this boron was channeled towards those points and gave it the blue color to some of them.
It's logical theory and there is nothing about it to contradict it, it would be the most appropriate to accept it.
What do you think about this theory?
